Hello… I'm Coronel, a Native Peruvian Tour Guide born in the town of Ollantaytambo, located 60 kilometers away from Cusco city.
When Child I spoke only Quechua (Incan native language), then learn Spanish when I went to school to later study tourism at the University of Cusco. After I'd finished studying I wanted to see the world so I'd moved to US and Australia for 5 years to learn English where the love and passion of my culture has grown even more. Now I live in Cusco City taking hundreds of visitors to Machu Picchu every year, making sure that they enjoy every moment, and I make this possible with very simple rules that I apply in all my Tours:
* When meet I'll Welcome you to my Casa with warm smile
* Ensure you stay safe and secure
* Show you the best of my country making you feel part of our country
* Guide and explain you our rich history, Culture, nature from which I feel very proud
* And the most important thing is FUN. Lots of FUN to make of your vacations an experience of a life-time. . .
A review of one of my trips:
Coronel went above and beyond in every possible way during the entire hike. He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the Incan culture, history and land. Having grown up in the area, he gave us extensive information along the way and at Machu Picchu. We learned so much about the Incas, and we also learned to share his compassion about the local people/communities. At the campsite on the first day, he brought both the hikers and porters together, and introduced each person to the other group. This gesture may seem simple, but the respect and appreciation he has for the porters impressed us. It got the two groups a lot closer, it felt like a family and we were there for each other. Our group of 11 trekkers were not the most experienced hikers, Coronel made sure no one was left behind. He is so experienced, skillful and attentive. He would be right there to help with any possible ailment you may experience. He knows exactly what to say and when to say it to motivate his team. It was his high energy and great sense of humor that kept everyone strong. He is definitely a top notch tour guide, this trip would not be the same without him.
